I take a collaborative approach to therapy. We will work together to identify treatment goals and an individualized plan that works for you. Therapy will be active and engaging, with the goal of equipping you with skills and strategies to practice and apply to enhance the quality of your life. These approaches are drawn from evidence-based practices including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness
Along with prioritizing the use of evidence-based practices in my work, my goal is also to create an accepting, validating and warm environment for you. I value and utilize humor, genuineness, and creativity to empower you to take on life’s challenges according to your own goals and values.
Standard Psychotherapy
I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis, although this might differ (meeting more or less frequently) based on your needs and the stage of treatment. These sessions are typically 50 - 60 minutes in length. We will begin by meeting for an initial intake during which we will get to know each other, I will gather information about you and your treatment needs, and we will identify goals and a plan for our work together.
